
Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) will invest about US$2.5 billion over the next three years to develop a new satellite urban development plan for Koh Norea. The development area located east of Koh Pich’s satellite town, in Chabar Ampov district stretching to Kean Svay of Kandal province. The company will invest about US$550 million in infrastructure for the entire project.
The total area of the development project is 125 hectares of land. Since January 2020, OCIC has been constructing concrete riverbanks and infrastructure along the river in the development of the Koh Norea project. The infrastructure of the entire construction project is 27 per cent complete. The project also plans to build two concrete bridges across the Bassac river. The first bridge connects National Road Number 1 to Koh Norea and the second bridge connects Koh Pich and Koh Norea.
